IPTV World Forum - Budapest is a leading conference & exhibition for Telecom sector in Hungary. Internet of Things - Internet of the Future –France, 6-7 October 2008
This conference -organised as part of the French Presidency of the European Union- will consist of keynote speeches, expert presentations and panel discussions on topics related to the development of the Internet of Things in the wider context of the international debate on the Internet of the Future and the trends and developments regarding the mobile Internet. It will also offer interactive parallel sessions. This conference will build on and follow up the two EU Presidency conferences on "RFID and the Internet of Things", which took place last year in Berlin (June 2007) and in Lisbon (November 2007). In particular, it will offer an opportunity to discuss the analyses and policy recommendations of the European Commission regarding the Internet of Things.

7th European Information Society Conference EISCO 2008 – Italy, 25-27 September 2008.

ASK- IT Project Local Event – Finland, 24 September 2008
The Helsinki site is promoting independent mobility for people with functional limitations by providing improved accessibility to existing Tourism and public transport services in the tourism and public transport sectors, using context-related and real-time information. For example, a blind person will be helped to use public transport, while someone in a wheelchair will be able to choose a hotel suited to their needs. Stakeholders include STAKES (the Technical Research Centre of Finland), Helsinki City Transport and transport technical research centre VTT. The local event will take place on 24 September (tbc) in Helsinki. The working language will be Finish.
eHealth 2008 - Electronic healthcare for the 21st century– UK , 8-9 September 2008
This event is devoted to analyze the role that eHealth will play in the delivery of healthcare records across the globe. It is organized as a meeting point for tele care product vendors, policy makers, government ministers, academics, clinicians and all those involved in electronic & mobile health, to examine and to share ideas contributing to the advancement of tele care into the 21st century. It is important because of remote diagnostics and patient management technologies in telemedicine have been highlighted as being one of the key components of healthcare for the 21st century. This event will bring together the clinicians, healthcare industries, policy makers, ministers and academics under one roof to discuss the issues surrounding the interoperability standards, policies and products in tele care solutions. It will provide an opportunity to hear from key people in the world of eHealth and also see in action some of the tele care solutions at the exhibitions, which will be running in conjunction with the conference.

1st European Workshop on Mechanisms for Mastering Future Internet – Austria, 10-11 July 2008
This workshop is oriented towards practical ways of designing, using and monitoring future IP networks for multi-services in multi-stakeholder environments. This workshop brings together Internet experts from academia and industry as well as practitioners, standards developers and policy makers. Presentations reporting on cutting-edge research results are supplemented by practical examples of deployments. The workshop will be dedicated to the key issues involved in future Internet design: monitoring and measurement, QoS, security, mobility, security and privacy techniques in improving the evolution towards the future Internet. Standardization and regulation will also be discussed.
Geoinformatics Forum Salzburg – Austria, 1-4 July 2008
This interdisciplinary forum focuses on an international Geographic Information (GI) Science audience sharing an interest in translating new methods and techniques into a broad range of application domains in geoinformatics. Full papers and extended abstracts for publication are accepted until February 1, 2008. The Salzburg University Centre for Geoinformatics is offering an annual forum to the worldwide geoinformatics community, bringing together English-speaking researchers and practitioners across disciplines and industries. Simultaneously, the GI_Forum connects participants into a well established co-located regional symposium - Applied Geoinformatics (AGIT) - sharing the state-of-the art AGIT-EXPO exhibit.
2nd International Conference on Autonomous Infrastructure, Management and Security –Germany, 1-3 July 2008
The AIMS conference is a single-track event integrating normal conference paper sessions, tutorials, keynotes, and a PhD workshop into a highly interactive event. One of the goals of AIMS is to look beyond borders and to stimulate the exchange of ideas across different communities and among PhD students. AIMS 2008 focuses on resilient networks and services and in particular on novel technologies that can provide resilience in a scalable, economic, secure, and autonomic way. To achieve resilience, new techniques such as autonomic and fully distributed algorithms, virtualization techniques, or self-organizing overlays must be explored. Modelling, analysis, and visualization is essential in order to understand the emerging overall system behaviour.
