The Sixth EU Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development served two main strategic objectives: Strengthening the scientific and technological bases of industry and encourage its international competitiveness while promoting research activities in support of other EU policies.
Indian participation in Framework Programme 6 projects saw more than 100 research institutions in more than 80 projects funded for the period 2002-2006.
