Europe's biggest research event on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is the most important forum for discussing research and public policy. The event is the second in its series, which anticipates to bring about 4000-5000 delegates all over the world from ICT communities including researchers and innovators, engineers, public policy and business decision-makers working in the field of digital technologies and innovation.
The ICT Event is organised by the European Commission's Directorate General for the Information Society and Media and is hosted by the current Presidency of the European Union.
ICT event 2008, in Europe will provide opportunities available for funding research in ICT area, stimulates innovation through ICT development, and creates opportunities to establish research and business partnerships in order to be informed.
The event will foresee transformations in technological environment due to implementation of ICT technologies. There are 3 opportunities to participate: Conference, Exhibition and Networking. The event fosters to shape policy and research options for Europe’s industrial and technological future.
A promotional stand named “Indian ICT Gateway” would be welcoming Indian delegation as well as directing all the Lyon participants to obtain information on ICT Indian competencies and contact potential partners. Created to help local companies access the European technology market by promoting their technologies across Europe, and by identifying and importing technological solutions. The IRC network has become a leading European network for the promotion of technology partnerships and transfer.
Innovating Regions in Europe (IRE)
Created by the European Commission to facilitate exchange of experience and good practice among European regions that are enhancing their capacity to support innovation and competitiveness among regional firms through the development and implementation of regional innovation strategies and schemes.
Electronic Proposal Submission Service (EPSS)
An internet-based application providing a secure work space for a consortium to prepare and submit a proposal jointly to the European Commission. Access requires only a standard web browser.
Support actions (SA)
Aims at contributing to the implementation of the Framework Program¬mes and the preparation of future Community research and technological development policy or the development of synergies with other policies, or to stimulate, encourage and facilitate the participation of SMEs, civil society organisations and their networks, small research teams and newly developed or remote research centres in the activities of the thematic areas of the Cooperation programme
