ICT Brussels 2010: Europe's most visible forum for ICT research and innovation
|
This is the Europe’s largest event which takes place once in two years. This is the third in its series, which anticipates to bring about 4000-5000 delegates all over the world from ICT communities including researchers and innovators, engineers, public policy and business decision-makers working in the field of digital technologies and innovation. There would be the following three main opportunities to participate and explore through: Conference, exhibition and Networking.
Conference: It shares vision of current and future research trends and exploring key policy options. The key themes involved for the 2010 conference are:
- The potential of digital solutions to promote sustainable growth in a low carbon economy
- The continuing constructive role of ICT in the daily life of citizens
- The importance of public participation in the innovation process
Exhibition: Researchers from all parts of Europe and beyond will present their latest work in upstream ICT innovation as well as close-to-market projects. This is an opportunity to explore at the coal face in your area of interest and to find potential future collaborators.
Networking: ICT 2010 will host dozens of networking sessions designed to facilitate contacts between researchers and innovators, engineers and investors from all fields of digital innovation. This is your chance to build future partnerships with the right people in your field.

FP7 – ICT Call 7 will be soon announced |
Under the FP7 programme, Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) theme of Cooperation Programme will soon announce its Seventh round of Call for proposals by late July 2010 given with a deadline of January 2011.

| Competitive Call (CC) in FP7 |
| For Integrated Projects and Networks of Excellence, not all participants have to be identified already at the start of the contract. In the implementation plan or in the joint programme of activities, tasks and related costs can be defined, for which a participant has to be found later. For choosing new contractors, the consortium has to prepare a competitive call. Details will be fixed in the contract with the Commission. |

| Euro Info Centres (EIC) |
| EIC act as an interface between European institutions and the local level (http://europa.eu.int/comm/enterprise/networks/eic/eic.html). Euro Info Centres are close to the enterprises in order to help them gain easier access to the opportunities presented by Europe and to prepare them for crucial milestones, such as the Euro, electronic commerce, enlargement etc. The EICs cover some 300 contact points in 265 towns and across 37 countries within Europe providing information, advice and assistance to SMEs. |

| Public Private Partnership (PPP) in FP7 Call for Proposals |
PPP is a new type of instrument introduced mid-FP7. In this instrument/funding scheme, the European Commission foresees to provide a contribution of 50% to the total R&D budget from the budget of the 7th Framework Program, with matching investment coming from the private sector.
