Objectives and Activities

Euro-India Research Centre (EIRC) is a platform to facilitate collaboration between Indian organisations and EU organisations for conducting joint Research and Development. EIRC will also assist organisations in accessing and benefiting from EU funding under the Seventh Framework Programme (EUFP7). The EIRC is supported by the NCP network of India which is the main entity that supports the scientific and business communities in accessing European funds for Research and Development.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Euro-India Research Centre is to drive innovation, achieved by defining and seminal work at the frontier of science and technology, through the realization of an effective collaboration among leading Indian and European research organisations. In this mission, the EIRC is guided by the European Research Agenda with the ultimate aim of achieving the FP7 goals of growth and competitiveness.
 
Objectives

  1. To facilitate research-level co-operation and engagement between India and the European Union.  
  2. To assist Indian and European organisations realize an effective collaboration in the R&D sector.
  3. To assess the relevance and advise on compatibility of proposed projects with EU strategic policy.

Activities

1. Raising awareness about the Framework Programme
Dissemination of information relating to the Framework Programme may be achieved through the circulation of documentation on Community RTD programmes, and the organization of promotional activities such as infodays, seminars, conferences and Web sites.

2. Guidance and Training
Specific guidance will be extended on administrative procedures, legal issues ad the modalities of funding schemes relating to the ICT Programme of FP7. Also, organisations, in particular, new actors and enterprises will be provided due assistance, with a view to increasing their participation in FP7.  Training sessions on RTD programmes will be provided for intermediaries and information multipliers.
