Work Programme 2009-10

Overview of the Work Programme

The subsequent Work Programme for the ICT theme of FP7 will define the priorities for the calls for proposals to be launched in the period of 2 years 2009-10. The Work Programme is also in line with the main ICT policy priorities as defined in the i2010 initiative - a European Information Society for Growth and Employment. The projects resulting from these calls will approximately function from 2009/10 to 2013/14.

Work Programme Structure:

This Work Programme proposes a structure around seven challenges. The following are the seven challenges to be addressed:

  • Pervasive and Trusted Network and Service Infrastructures
  • Cognitive Systems, Interaction, Robotics
  • Components, systems, engineering
  • Digital Libraries and Content
  • Towards sustainable and personalized healthcare
  • ICT for Mobility, Environmental Sustainability and Energy Efficiency
  • ICT for Independent Living, Inclusion and Participation

These above challenges are driven either by industry and technology objectives or by socio-economic goals. These objectives are described in the next chapters of the Work Programme and will provide the focus for the Calls for proposals. For each objective, the Work Programme defines the target outcome of the supported research and the expected impact of these outcomes on the European economy and society.
